Serving children, adolescents, and emergent adults

Individual psychotherapy for young people

I am a mental health therapist and social worker who works with children (5-12), adolescents (13-18), and emergent adults (19-25) using an integrated relational perspective.

My approach is developmentally responsive and trauma-sensitive, and I draw primarily from psychodynamic, humanistic, and relational theories. I use play and/or or talk-based interventions, which could include: child-centered play therapy; Collaborative Problem Solving; Acceptance and Commitment Therapy; or narrative therapy approaches.

My goal is to collaborate with you to understand, honor, and be curious about your (or your child’s) full self.

Support for caregivers, parents, and families

I provide consultation to parents and caregivers as a regular component of work with children and teens.

I also offer family therapy in situations where family dynamics and relationships are in need of more significant exploration or restoration. My approach to family work is heavily influenced by abolitionist and transformative accountability philosophies. I believe conflicts are vital opportunities to help families grow and respond to not only their own dilemmas and dynamics, but also those of our wider communities, past and present.

I emphasize acknowledgement of values, strengths and power in family work. This type of exploration can help families deepen relationships, defuse chronic power struggles, and reveal new and surprising ways to understand ourselves and one another.

I can help with things like…

  • Experiences of depression or anxiety

  • Understanding & healing following trauma

  • Liberation & abolition-centered mental health

  • Responding to loneliness, isolation, alienation

  • Queer- & gender-affirming care

  • Neurodivergence, understanding neurodiversity

  • Suicidal thoughts, self-harm

  • Family conflict, communication struggles, collaboration
